Networks are the lifeblood of modern business. The McClure School specializes in preparing the professionals who design and maintain those networks, with a curriculum that combines technology, business, and communications classes with hands-on experience. Our graduates work for
- Insurance companies
- Telecom service providers
- Telecom equipment manufacturers
- Consulting firms
ITS is a growing field: The U.S. Department of Labor expects jobs for network and computer systems administrators to increase by nearly 28 percent by 2020. Increasing demand for high-tech communication systems in all sectors of the economy, combined with the impending retirement of the baby boom generation, means that there should be many jobs available in ITS.
It’s also a well-paying field. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2010 median annual pay was
- $69,160 for network and computer systems administrators
- $77,740 for computer systems analysts
- $75,660 for information security analysts and computer network architects
The McClure School and Ohio University offer numerous resources to help our students find jobs. In fact, the McClure School has one of the highest placement rates of schools in the Scripps College of Communication.
“The ability of the school to not only teach pertinent technology, but also focus on acquiring lucrative positions for their students, is what drew me to the school and was a major factor in where I have been able to take my career.” — Tom Fisher, BSC ‘1998, VP, Global Sales Operations and Engineering, Interactive Intelligence Inc.
